Industries in Jharkhand

T he new state of Jharkhand, widely acclaimed as the region of future, has enormous potentialities for industrialization. With its   large deposits of minerals ,  it provides a solid launching pad for all kinds of industries. As many as  26 mega industries, 106 large and medium industries and 18,109 micro and small industries  have been set up in the State during the period with an approximate investment of Rs 28,424.06 crore and about 63,000 people thus far got employment in these industries Jharkhand is leading and is wooing investors in  mineral exploration, Plastics, Chemicals, Electrical, Cement, Metallurgy and Automobile components , Equipment's for Heavy Engineering companies etc. Jharkhand has important steel plants and mines. Agriculture of Jharkhand

 A griculture is the main stay for the 80% of rural population of the state. Agriculture is their employment and primary income generating activity.  The agricultural economy of the Jharkhand state is characterized by dependence on nature, low investment ,low productivity, mono-cropping with paddy as the dominant crop, inadequate irrigation facilities and small and marginal holdings. The cultivable land resources of the state have good potential for higher production of horticulture and forest products. The soil is young and has high capacity of fixation of humus. The forest provides sufficient biomass to feed its soiling. However, Soil erosion and failure to recycle the biomass is depleting the soil fertility. Hence, a judicious oil, water and land management is required only that can improve agriculture productivity. Demography of Jharkhand

  Jharkhand   meaning 'the land of forests' is a  state  in  eastern India .It  shares border with the states of BIHAR  to the North, UTTAR PRADESH  to the Northwest, CHHATTISGARH  to the West, ODISHA  to the South and WEST BENGAL  to the East. It has an area of 79,710 km 2  (30,778 sq mi).  It is the  15th largest state by area , and the 14Th largest by population .  Hind i  is the official language of the state. The city of  Ranchi  is its capital and  Dumka  its sub-capital.  The state was formed in 2000, from the territory that had previously been part of Bihar.
